Challenge:
Pit-to-port supply chain needed to be optimised to validate proposed spend for additional rail consist.
Solution:
The Cubility team developed a pit-to-port supply chain model and simulation from pit through to port, in order to compare various alternative scenarios.
Outcome:
Our work identified a rail design issue thus negating the need for extra spend on rail consist. We also identified alternative markets and shipping fleet stem that would achieve significant throughput. This resulted in a potential saving of $140 million.
